DIY Cleaning Slime That Actually Works Fun Fast & Super Satisfying
It might resemble a toy straight from your kid’s playroom, but don’t be fooled this stuff delivers.
Tired of staring at grime wedged into those impossible-to-clean nooks and crannies?
It hides in plain sight nestled between the keys of our keyboard, just out of easy reach.
Sometimes it wedges itself into the hairline fractures of the steering wheel or settles deep within the tight hollows of the center console.

Tracking down something that can genuinely extract that gunk feels nearly impossible.
And even if you manage to dig it out with something, it tends to tumble right back into the same stubborn crevice.
That’s exactly why retailers are now offering a clever solution known as cleaning slime or, in some cases, cleaning putty.

It works by dabbing the slime into those hard to reach areas.
As you lift the slime away, all that stubborn debris clings to it like a magnet to metal
It works wonders on dust, lint, stray hairs, and those sneaky crumbs. Simply press, lift, and repeat until every speck is gone and the space feels spotless.

You can keep reusing this cleaning slime time and again—right up until it loses its clarity and turns opaque.
These days, you can either grab a ready-made cleaning slime off the shelf or whip up your own batch at home.
Plenty of recipes float around the internet, but a few of them can pose a real threat to your electronics.

According to CNET, they’ve crafted a formula that won’t leave your gadgets coated in a tacky, unwanted residue.
Here’s what you’ll need to make it
- 1 ½ cups warm water
- 4 tablespoons borax
- 2 bottles 4oz. bottles of white school glue
- Food coloring (optional)

Directions:
Step 1) Mix 1 cup of warm water with borax in a paper cup. Stir your mixture until the borax is dissolved.

Step 2) In a separate bowl, mix a half-cup of warm water (add more if you need it), the glue and two drops of food coloring if you want it to be colored.
Step 3) Add your borax water to this mixture.

Step 4) At first, you’ll have a bowl of goo. But it will stiffen as you mix it up. Stir it until it becomes firm.
Step 5) Once it becomes firm, you’ll want to start kneading for about 5 minutes it until it becomes a dry ball of ooze.
Step 6) Add more tablespoons of borax if the slime is sticking to your hands or won’t form into a ball. Don’t use it on electronics if it doesn’t roll into a ball. It can leave a residue behind if you don’t knead it enough.
Take your slime ball and gently press it onto the surface you’re aiming to purify.
Avoid letting the slime linger on your electronics lift it off within a second to prevent any potential damage.
Avoid letting it seep into crevices stick to quick, firm dabs. Not a fan of this blend? There are plenty of alternative recipes to explore.
