As stated by U.S. Supreme court, Police is allowed to pat on the outside clothing, if they doubt any individual of the wrongful deed. But, this does not really mean that they are authorized to search inside the clothing without any such warrant.
The incidents of such type poses a great challenge as one needs to be careful while handling the same, otherwise an innocent would be charged of a crime which he never committed.
