Ohio Dad Builds Epic Multi Room Igloo That’s Cooler Than Most Homes

He hasn’t even wrapped it up yet.

What makes people happy?

A captivating book, a fun night out, and some downtime? Sure, all of that hits the spot but few things rival soaking in the magic of the weather itself.

Especially when that weather turns the world into a glistening winter wonderland.

For one Ohio man, snow isn’t just seasonal it’s a source of joy.

Blake Dixon has harbored an unusually intense love for snow days since childhood. Back in middle school, he envisioned crafting an icy fortress something grand, something unforgettable.

Years down the line, that frosty daydream solidified into reality. And now? He’s living his winter fantasy with an enormous smile on his face.

We’re talking igloos, of course.

After years of perfecting his craft, Dixon finally brought to life his most impressive igloo yet.

Just a few weeks ago, he set his sights on this bold new build but the start was anything but smooth.

“All we had in the beginning was a giant heap of snow,” recalled one of Blake’s friends who helped bring the vision to life. “We started carving from the inside out. Then, the entire top caved in. But thanks to Blake’s quick thinking and a hefty dose of determination, we managed to rework the structure and rebuild the dome from scratch.”

Against all odds, the crew pulled off an extraordinary feat a sprawling igloo with multiple chambers.

This frosty fortress boasts a cozy sitting nook, an arched hallway, and an additional room carved entirely from packed snow.

Dixon is proud of the job.

He and his friends poured heart and hustle into the creation and now, he’s reveling in the joy of seeing his igloo spark smiles all around.

Not done yet

The igloo is spacious enough to accommodate at least seven adults and two children comfortably. Yet, when it first caught the public’s attention, it was still a work in progress.

According to its creator, a few finishing touches were still on the docket before he could call it complete.

A fireplace and chimney were next on the list and the team was already hard at work bringing those wintry upgrades to life.

The big reveal

Just a few days back, Blake unveiled the completed igloo on his Instagram and the post quickly racked up hundreds of likes.

In the video, he gives a tour: there’s now a fireplace flickering warmly, a TV set in place, and the entire space radiates cozy, laid-back charm ideal for a slow, wintry evening.

Feeling drowsy? No problem. The second room is stocked with layers upon layers of blankets, making it a snug hideaway for an impromptu nap.

In his posts, Dixon expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone who played a part in bringing his vision to life, encouraging others to chase their own aspirations.

“Dream it up and bring it to life,” he wrote. “There’s nothing like witnessing an idea take shape, watching it light up faces with joy, and sparking inspiration in the next generation.”

For the record, Blake Dixon recently earned a master’s degree in climate change and global sustainabilityand in his own words, he’s “ready to save the world.”

Whether or not he fulfills that colossal mission remains to be seen. But one thing’s certain: with his snow-built marvel bringing joy to so many, he’s already accomplished something worth celebrating.
