Turn Plastic Bottle Caps into Stunning DIY Flower Pots You’ll Love
It’s so colorful and pretty!
A flower pot need not be elaborate, yet nothing forbids a touch of flourish should the mood strike. After all, where’s the joy in life without occasionally embracing a bit of whimsy?
Ordinarily, crafting a plant pot requires little beyond clay or plastic. But if your resources extended beyond the basics, would you be tempted to create something a little more extraordinary?
Here’s a new flower pot idea for you: recycled bottle caps and cement.

Hardly the most dazzling or luxurious materials one might imagine. Concrete and bottle caps are more often spotted together as urban debris than as elements of design. Yet, these unassuming components hold untapped potential as you’re about to discover.
Cement Craft Ideas on has an unconventional design for a flower pot.
It begins with an abundance of discarded bottle caps.
First and foremost, an ample collection of bottle caps is required. A considerable amount. Unless you’ve been diligently collecting them or managed to acquire a stash through other means, chances are you won’t have this many on hand.
But the method of acquisition matters little. What’s essential next is a supply of cement and a bit of know-how in working with it.
I’ll admit, cement is probably not something most of us will have on hand.
It seems we’ll simply have to content ourselves with watching him work his magic unless, of course, a few of you happen to have bags of cement mix tucked away in the backyard.
Handling cement is no tidy affair, nor is it as effortless as it might appear. It demands careful shaping and a proper lining to guide it into place and help it cure gracefully.

To shape this cement, he uses some old cardboard boxes roughly the size and shape of a pizza box.
Next, he meticulously arranges the interior, filling every inch with as many bottle caps as the box will allow. Once this layer is complete, he moves on pouring wet cement over each of the four boxes, enveloping the colorful caps beneath a thick, heavy blanket of concrete.
When the cement dries, he ends up with 4 identically-sized slabs.
Each slab emerges adorned with a vibrant, eye-catching mosaic courtesy of the embedded bottle caps.
Yet, this is merely the beginning. On their own, these slabs lack the structure to cradle any greenery.

The plan is to use them as individual sides for a larger structure, and that’s what he starts working on.
He arranges the slabs into a precise box formation, securing them in place with sturdy supports. With the structure steady, he shifts focus to crafting a foundation that unites all four sides pouring a fresh layer of cement across the top to bind them seamlessly.

Now he’s got a nice, cement box with some colorful patterns on it. It’s time to get it ready to hold actual plants.
He repurposes old cylinders as molds to sculpt gracefully rounded corners. Once the form takes shape, he fills the vessel with rich soil and begins adding his personal flair bringing the creation to life with a splash of paint.

Then he transplants some ferns into it to let us know the project’s done.
I must admit that’s an impressively clever approach to crafting a plant pot. It serves beautifully as a striking corner accent, effortlessly elevating the outdoor aesthetic.

He made it with “junk” materials too, no less.
